Hi, I'm Jenny, the owner and creator of Blue Palm Candle Co. As an Atlanta native, l moved to Sarasota in 2000 as an art student at Ringling College of Art and Design, and never left. I love everything vintage/retro, especially old family memories spending summers in Florida growing up.  I started making all natural coconut wax candles under lockdown when I started noticing the candles I was burning were irritating my sinuses and burning dirty. So I decided to research healthier candle options for my family and started making my own. And that's how my little business started, not realizing yet that a lot of other people were looking for healthier candle options as well!

Why do I use coconut wax for our candles? They are healthier!

​

The short answer is your family's health, and our planets. 

There has been a huge amount of research done on candles and the effects they have on your health. I feel that using all natural coconut wax candles is an healthier option to what's on the market today. My candles are free from synthetic agricultural chemicals including pesticides and herbicides.

Coconut wax is produced by pressing the oil out of the coconut meat and goes through the process of hydrogenation. It is filtered and cleaned giving you 100% natural, and fully biodegradable wax. It is a renewable and high yield crop which means less coconuts are needed to get a sizable about of product, making it one of the most eco-friendly waxes on the market.

Farmers grow the coconut trees on their land, they do not use pesticides or herbicides and there is no need for giant tractors because the farmers harvest the coconuts by hand.

They are Smokeless and Low Soot

Our coconut wax candles are non-toxic, burn cleaner than other waxes and creates low soot particles, so you don’t need to worry about the potential of carcinogens being released into your home or getting dirty walls. Have you ever noticed a black mark appearing in the spot where there is always a candle lit? That's because of the toxins in paraffin and even soy candles that let off small soot particles into your home and create a soot mark on your walls, windows and ceiling. That's what was happening to us. And why I set out to make a healthier candle. For my family, and for yours.

And a non-GMO Product

GMO, Genetically modified organism, which has become more common to many fruit and vegetables, have been somewhat genetically modified, unlike the coconut.  Coconuts are one of the very few fruits left that have remained untouched. That means nothing is added when producing coconut wax – not even pesticides due to the hard protective exterior of coconuts that naturally ward off insects and wildlife.

Fun fact – The coconut palm is known as the ‘Three generation tree’.  With a life span of  60 – 80 years, the coconut tree can support three generations of one family!​
